Conclusion:
I conclude that the food coloring does nothing to the plant itself, except change the color of it. My Calla Lily grew to be 2.58 feet tall. The average height for a Calla Lily is 2-3 (≈2.5) feet tall. My Calla Lily fit in the range of most Calla Lilies, showing that the food coloring did nothing except for change the color of the base.
The original purpose of my experiment was to see if using food coloring as an additive would affect the plant’s growth. To test this, I took food coloring and added it to the plants water so it would go into the roots of the plant. I used the Internet and other sources to find average heights and compared my height to theirs. My hypothesis stated that the food coloring will not affect the growth of the plant. My research proved that statement true.
